Martha at Work

Born and raised in Co.na Mí, East coast Ireland; Martha has been immersed in the Art world from an early age, heavily influenced by her older sister Linda who brought her to Art galleries and exhibitions as a child and nurtured by her family, Art was in her blood, and her future. Using her Artistic talents to help kids earned Martha a career in Youth work; specifically, Youth Arts where she worked with many aspects of the community through Art festivals, workshops, and many projects using Art as a means for expression for many children of all ages. At the same time, she was paving her way steadily through the growing body art scene in Ireland and spent every weekend either face or body painting at community or private events. These skills are what lends to her specific style. A stencil is rarely found, choosing to be more comfortable with markers, 98% of Martha’s work is freehand and custom. Beginning her apprenticeship in 2011, Martha has been steadily tattooing since, attending conventions around the globe, and developing her unique style. Throughout her life, Martha has earned numerous awards and acknowledgments through her various Artforms; including 3rd place, Irish body painting championships 2016, Most original tattoo: Waterford tattoo expo, Ireland 2015 Recently her family moved to beautiful B.C and they now call Campbell River their home. In September this year, Nomad tattoos opened, securing Martha’s little piece of Paradise in Vancouver Island.
